Defence Matters.

Defence Matters is sponsored by the Defence Industries Council which is the senior trade body for the defence sector in the UK.  Through Defence Matters we seek to raise awareness and understanding of our work to support the UK armed forces and the wider contribution we make to the nation and economy.

We are immensely proud of the support and equipment we provide to the UK’s Armed Forces and we want more people to know about this.  In addition, today’s globalised defence market sees us competing with other industries for skilled employees, and with defence companies based in other countries for work. As the commitments the UK’s Armed Forces face at home and overseas evolve, the UK defence industry has to ensure that we are in the best possible position to support their work.

Defence Matters aims to give you a better understanding of the work of the UK defence industry and we hope you go away from our site with the feeling that you know a bit more about what we do.

The DIC includes nine senior representatives from defence companies (selected by their peers) and the Presidents and Directors General of the three Defence Trade Associations i.e  A|D|S, Intellect and the Society of Maritime Industries.  The current membership of the DIC is listed here
